Having confessed about her secret call-girl profession, Lauren begs David for forgiveness, but David refuses since Lauren put her job and career first (as she always does). Meanwhile, Ella schemes to save her job by wanting to hack into the WPK computer files to erase the fake evidence against her that Amanda planted, but Jonah strongly disagrees with her underhanded tactics, so Ella looks to David for help. David’s new role as a restaurant owner is put to the test after he loses some of his staff on the day an important food critic has come to review Coal. In an effort to get David to forgive her, Lauren pitches in as a waitress and hostess and helps him out of his jam. Elsewhere with Drew’s help, Riley throws a fund raiser for her education foundation, but when Drew (motivated by greed) tries to increase the donations by auctioning off a date with Riley, things go awry after Drew and a jealous Jonah get into a bidding war over her.

Lexi’s father openly expresses disdain for Peter over his daughter living with him. Meanwhile, Craig threatens Jennifer after she learns of some less-than-legal, cost-cutting efforts for the glove company. After Kyle announces his engagement to Amanda, Taylor flies to Dallas and pressers Kyle’s former Marine buddy, Nick, for information about the mysterious Christine and her connection to Kyle. Back in Los Angeles, Cooper continues his plan to bring down Michael when he makes him look bad to the doctors at a hospital reception by getting Amber drunk and disorderly. Michael then once again takes out his anger and frustration on Amber and throws her out his beach house. But Amber gets the last laugh when she returns and robs his place. While Amanda is still incapacitated for her injured back, Samantha and Billy pursue Jeff Baylor, a major league baseball star to be a client’s spokesman for A.W.A.

When Samantha is threatened with eviction from Melrose, Billy suggests legal help, but regrets it when the lawyer, Kenny, turns out to be an old boyfriend of hers. Meanwhile, Taylor takes a dim view toward Kyle’s short-tempered, former army service buddy, Nick, who shows up out the blue and asks to stay at their place. Amanda visits Peter’s new home and makes a move to reconcile. Carter takes Sydney on a private getaway to a ranch near San Francisco to show her where he grew up, and she tries to break down his creative block. But later, Sydney learns the true reason why Walter has been insisting to her to spend time with Carter. Jake proposes marriage to Alison and they begin talk of moving to another place. When Michael is injured in a car crash in attempting to stop Kimberly from killing herself, he has a bizarre near-death experience in the hospital involving an angel Megan urging him to come with her to Heaven, while a demon Kimberly urges him to come with her to Hell, while the two women wait… hoping that he will recover.

Billy finds Brooke after she tries to kill herself by slashing her wrists. Brooks survives and Billy decides to stay with her then be with Alison. Alan moves in with Matt where Kimberly fills him on Matt’s past history. Meanwhile, Sydney plants the tranquilizers she used to drug Jane in Richard’s office, and Jo hesitates on what to do when she finds them. Amanda is caught in the middle of Peter and Bobby’s personal conflict for her attention. Jake sinks more and more into debt when he’s asked by his loan-shark, Monty, to collect money from one of his deadbeat clients as partial payback for the loan. Sydney becomes upset with Jane staying at the beach house and Michael becomes more upset when he learns that Jane’s flirtation with him was all an act.

Evil once again triumphs over good when Sydney hires a prostitute to seduce Robert during a vacation in San Diego and videotape it. Michael then mails the videotape to Jane. She is shocked and throws Robert out of her apartment. Reed suddenly shows up out of the blue at Melrose and invites Jo to a romantic dinner to rekindle their long ago affair. Meanwhile, Amanda and Jake reunite and go on a Hawaiian vacation together. While Amanda is gone, Alison takes over an account of hers and proves to their boss, D&D President Bruce Teller, she can do it better. When Amanda hears the news, she feels threatened by Alison’s new killer-instincts.
